Found In The Attic
When the house that Arthur Trout had built about 1918 in Highwood, Lake County, Illinois for his wife, Lillian May (Brown), and their family was being readied to sell in 1997, we discovered many treasures had been left behind by the three generations who had lived there. Among them was the above "Floral Album," filled with the photographs of people who meant the most to Lillian's parents, Francis Marion Brown and his wife, Nancy Anna (Saxon), including a couple tin types of men in a previous generation.
Not all of the items presented here were found in our own attic, however. The collection draws from contributions by family researchers other than myself and those items are reproduced here with their express permission. We are hoping that you will be able to help us identify some of them. If you recognize any of these folks in your own family, please contact me.
Photo Album | Contains pictures from the above "Floral Album" [Brown, Saxon, Denniston, others?]; along with photos contributed by Gene Aittala and Shari Duffin [Ratfield, Hennigan, McClellan, others?] and by Gwen Milledge [Milledge]; as well as some of our favorites from the box of loose photos we found in our own attic [Trout] |
Scrapbook | Scanned images of tombstones as well as documents associated with the allied families in Jacob P Trout's extended family: marriage licenses; obits; funeral cards, etc. |
The following photographs are of just some of our other unidentified family members. Please look through them and see if YOU can tell us who they are. If you can, please contact me!
