Ratfield Photos (Gene Aittala)

These photos are from the family records of Gene Aittala [except the one on row 1 at the far right, which is from Shari Duffin] and are included here with their permission. If you recognize any of those in this collection, please contact me. Let's see what we can all discover together!

Unidentified Ratfield family 1 Unidentified Ratfield family #2 Scy, George, Carrie and Franklin in 1934 (from Shari Duffin)

Is the birthday girl Carrie (Hennigan) Ratfield? Carrie was born in Jan. 1866 and died Oct. 1940. This is not January in northwestern Illinois, and the photo to the far right on this row shows Carrie with Scy and 2 of their sons in 1934 - Could the above photo have been taken enough earlier to account for the much darker brows?

Is this a family gathering in honor of Carrie (Hennigan) Ratfield's birthday? The gentleman in the far right looks very much like Carrie's husband, Scy Ratfield, who died in February 1943. Scy, however, stood a good head taller than Carrie and this fellow doesn't appear to be much taller than most of the ladies. This photo (provided by Shari Duffin) is shown here to provide a point of comparison for Carrie, the woman hypothesized to be the "birthday girl" in the photos to the left. The lady above is Carrie (Hennigan) Ratfield in 1934. Do you think it's the same lady?
