Our Trouts - Selections from a box of loose photos found in the attic
George W Trout with his wife and their grown children
Arthur Trout Sr standing in front of their cabin in Tower Lakes, IL
Arthur Trout's eldest son, Leslie Melvin Trout
Written on back: Family of George W. Trout (1851), son of Elizabeth 'Betsey' (Milledge) and Jacob Trout. Elizabeth (Ratfield) and George (seated) with children. According to his WWI draft registration form, Arthur was a tall man with a medium build, brown eyes and dark hair. Which of the young men pictured with Lizzie and George was Arthur? What a shock for Leslie Melvin Trout to discover his name had been registered by the doctor at his birth as "Wesley Trout" (cert 17418, Chicago)!

We believe this is a gathering to celebrate Carrie (Hennigan) Ratfield's birthday. If the birthday girl is Carrie (Hennigan) Ratfield, who are the women standing behind her? Charles McClellan and Mary Ratfield wedding photo

We believe the woman seated was Carrie (Hennigan) Ratfield. The man on the far right looks like Scy but. when compared to other confirmed photos of Scy, that man appears to have been several inches shorter than Scy [see photo of Scy with his sons and Carrie, below].

If Carrie (Hennigan) Ratfield is the birthday girl, who are the women standing behind her?

Carrie only had two daughters that we are aware of: Maude, born c. 1892 and Mildred, born c. 1904.
